Committee Members

Norman Harlow – Chairman

I have been member of Gt. Yarmouth Cycling Club for nearly 30 years, the last 20 as Club Chairman. During my racing career I have held the club’s Time Trialing Records at all distances from 10 miles through to 100 miles (30, 50 and 100 still held). At the moment as well as Chairman, I organise/time-keep all the Club Time Trials and am the club’s Club Run Leader.

Louise Averre – Treasurer

Hi my name is Louise and I have been a member of GYCC for 2 years.  My husband started cycling before me and quickly realised that if he was going to ride his bike as much as he wanted he had best get me interested too!  Luckily for him I fell in love with cycling.
During the past 2 years I have met a wonderful,  diverse and super friendly group of people I now consider good friends.  Along with entering more sportives my challenge for 2016 is to start racing.
I took over the role of treasurer in 2015 and look forward to helping the club move onwards and upwards in the future.

Linzi Clarke – Club Secretary

I am a 42 year old mum of two teenage boys. I have only been with the club for 18 months and cycling for just over two years. I turned 40 and had one of those moments – so signed up to ride 100k through London at night for charity. This was a huge challenge for me having only ever ridden a mountain bike to work occasionally. I purchased my first (2nd hand) road bike in September 2013 and began cycling. My son Morgan was already a member of GYCC and in April 2014 I decided to join so we could do something together. There have only been a couple of ’embarrassing mum’ moments – forgetting to unclip at traffic lights and ending up on the floor being the worst. GYCC is a club for everyone and has something to offer for all. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my rides out and am now looking forward to taking over as secretary.

Jenny Anderson – Ladies and TT Captain

59 years young, I have a grown up family. I am a Sports Massage Practitioner, self employed working from home. A Road Safety and Cycle trainer delivering Bikeability in schools in Suffolk for Suffolk County Council. I hold level 2 cycle coach certificate in the past coaching the younger riders at the Gt Yarmouth Stadium. I have been an active member of GYCC since joining in 2002 when I attempted my first TT. I have been doing TTs each season since, only missing a couple of seasons through injury and a broken leg (not on the bike, my dog ran into me!). I have been on the committee for 2 years now, my role/responsibilities to encourage and promote ladies/girls cycling, get the girls out on their bikes organise some female only rides and training sessions, assist in paperwork and online entries for TT events and to get a ladies TT team together would be great.

Neil Goward – Sportives

I returned to cycling in 2010 after a 20 year break. I joined GYCC in 2012 and have really enjoyed every minute of it. I don’t do any racing, but I do help out with timing at the club TT’s and the annual hill climb. I’m more interested in distance cycling. I’ve had great fun riding local Sportives and now plan to enter national Sportives. My role in the club is supporting our participation in Sportives. If you know of any please let me know.

One of my cycling ambitions is to sample cake in as many cycling friendly cafes as I can find.

Paul Anderson – Safeguarding

Hi my name is Paul Anderson and has been cycling for many years which have mostly been with GYCC. I have taken part in time trials in the past and have been a runner, I have also participated in triathlons which were great fun. Cycling has always been a passion of mine and is a great way to keep healthy and fit. GYCC is a great club to belong to as it is accessible and friendly, it is for anyone and of any ability. My role with the club is that of Welfare Officer.
